The film follows three wildlife biologists in their endeavor to solve this mysterious population decline and piece together a more complete picture of the ecosystem. The eye-opening science-thriller unravels unexpected links between endangered grizzlies, invasive species claiming their niche and man’s everlasting need for outdoor entertainment and recreation.
Once, tens of thousands of elks migrated each spring from the outlying winter ranges in Montana and Wyoming up to wilderness inside the Yellowstone National Park. But of late, the population plummeted to less than 3,000 migrating individuals, alarming wildlife managers and researchers alike. A key element of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is disappearing – triggering an ecological chain reaction.
