Synopsis
The world of insects is a fascinating parallel world. On the one hand, it is quite similar to ours – from predators to mating rituals – on the other hand it is fundamentally different: insects form states and cannot live at minus degrees due to their physiology (with a few exceptions).
The series “Macro Worlds” takes a closer look at this tiny wilderness of Europe. The first episode – Winter is Coming – shows the fascinating methods with which the insects prepare themselves for the annual end of the world: winter. The second episode – Meadow of Horror – dives into the world of hunters and hunted. In the last episode – God’s Darlings – we investigate the reason why the Beetle, with over 400,000 species, is the most successful order of animals on the planet. There must be something to having 6 legs and 4 wings.
